I love painting! I started Chinese painting at the age of 6 and learned to express myself through the brush with pouring ink and pigments. At 12, I began to explore Western painting through sketching and acrylic. Trying to present my thoughts through a different form of art is challenging but rewarding. Through my journey of exploring and learning, I understood the connection between art and different cultures and feel the growth inside me.

Worlds Within: The Mind Unseen

An Illustrative Series Exploring Mental Worlds

This series visualizes the unseen emotional and psychological worlds of people living with different mental and neurological conditions. Through metaphorical imagery and symbolic spaces, the works transform inner experiences into visible form, inviting empathy and reflection. Worlds Within: The Mind Unseen encourages viewers to look beyond labels and recognize the shared fragility, resilience, and humanity that connect us all. Each piece in this series depicts one neurological disease through various symbols that picture the patient’s world.

Alzheimer’s Disease

This drawing visualizes the neurodegeneration of Alzheimer’s Disease. A translucent brain scarred with injuries contains the curled figure of a child, symbolizing regression of memory and cognition. Colorful threads surround the brain, representing efforts of treatment and care, while blurred, torn film reels in the background illustrate fading memories. The piece reflects the experiences of patients and their families, conveying both the loss and the enduring humanity behind the disease.

Parkinson’s Disease

This artwork symbolizes the progression of Parkinson’s Disease through malfunctioning gears inside an elderly body. The breaking down of gears represents declining motor and cognitive functions. Beyond illustrating degeneration, the piece emphasizes resilience and the importance of care networks, encouraging audiences to view the disease not as diminished worth but as a challenge requiring support, knowledge, and compassion.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

This piece portrays the inner world of a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Inspired by The Little Prince, the child sits alone on a star, painting and filling his world with what he loves. In the background, faint outlines of a city landscape emerge, symbolizing the real world that looms beyond his imagination. The work contrasts an inner world of immersion with the external pressures of society, aiming to foster understanding of autism as diversity rather than illness, and to reduce stigma.

Bipolar Disorder

This drawing presents the duality of bipolar disorder through a contrast between colors. The blue part shows depression, with a pill box on the ground, a sad face, and a body wrapped in bandages, while the red part reflects mania with bright, overstimulating light and impulsive energy. The contrast reveals the extreme emotional shifts of bipolar disorder and highlights the hidden struggles often misunderstood as moodiness. The piece calls for empathy and recognition of bipolar disorder as a mental health condition that deserves understanding and support.
